The Etna Museum represents a unique place of scientific and cultural study accessible to enthusiasts of all levels and to the many visitors of Etna and its surroundings as well as a rare opportunity to valorise the territory, created by the Amici della Terra association in collaboration with various institutions including the Etna Park and the National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology (INGV).
With more than 1500 m2 of modern and interactive exhibition, it represents the main educational-exhibition center on Etna, dealing with both its naturalistic and historical and ethno-anthropological aspects.
The exhibition area presents settings and exhibits dedicated to Etna with insights into nature, paths, typical products and ancient and recent history.
The Etna Museum is also the largest museum on volcanoes in Italy and has become one of the most visited scientific-educational centers in all of Sicily.
With a division into thematic sections, it offers a modern and interactive vision of volcanology and is equipped with screening rooms, a new 3D cinema, a playroom and is the only structure in Sicily to have an earthquake simulator equipped with a platform computerized dynamics.
