F.lli Napoli Puppetry Museum and Theater

The Puppetry of the Napoli Brothers represents the most significant reality of the traditional Catania-style puppet theater. Founded in Catania in 1921 by Gaetano Napoli, it has now reached its fourth generation, without interruptions in activity. All the members of the family take part in the staging of the shows, each according to the role that is most congenial to them among those typical of the Catania Opera. The company has been carrying out an intense theatrical activity for a century which has led it to perform all over the world.

For about a decade, a branch of our Catania operating activity has been dedicated to the younger public. In fact, in 1999, “Bimbi e Pupi” was born, a journey through puppet theater with storytellers, puppets, marionettes and puppets. These are theatrical journeys aimed at children aged 3 to 10, often represented with revealed mixed technique, meaning the spectators will have way of seeing not only the animated figures on the scene but the operators who give them life.
