Sometimes myth and history mix. It would seem that the origin of the myth of the Cyclops, monstrous giants with only one eye in the center of their forehead, may derive from the discovery of skulls of elephants that lived in prehistoric times inside some Sicilian caves.
The route we propose winds through a natural area within the Etna Park, adjacent to the famous 1992 lava flow that threatened the town of Zafferana.
An outdoor itinerary (open-air museum style) with the cave, explanatory panels, and the reconstruction of the giant Polyphemus intent on throwing the enormous boulder. An area equipped for picnics and a large panoramic area (The Terrace of the Firmament) between terraces and lava stone walls, where the legends linked to the constellations are illustrated.
A mix of myth and science with a strong visual impact.
